How It Works
Microdermabrasion uses very fine crystals, which are sprayed onto the skin under pressure and are vacuumed back
at a fraction of a second. This process gently removes dead skin cells from the skin revealing younger, fresher looking
skin while at the same time unclogging pores and stimulating new cell growth.
It may be slightly flushed and feel warm after the stimulation from the Microdermabrasion.
This flushing called erythema (increase blood flow) brings in more nutrients, vitamins and
especially oxygen which helps repair the skin and stimulate collagen. You can return to your
normal activities almost immediately.
Your skin will look amazing. The texture will be instantly smoother. Your pores will be clean.
Blackheads removed. Overall your skin will look very clean and smooth.
Since Microdermabrasion is a very stimulating procedure, it's important to follow up with
proper home care. At Beauty Resort we have a variety of products in our Alpha-H, SkinCeuticals
and Babor ranges to suit all skin conditions and skin types.
Some people may require combined treatment with IPL skin rejuvenation for optimum results.
We can discuss the best treatment for you in your initial consultation.
For best results most clients will require 5-10 treatments approximately 2 weeks apart.

Microdermabrasion Materials
Aluminium Oxide
Aluminium crystals have extraordinary qualities, and because
of their shape and hardness, deliver a more efficient exfoliation.
These sharp crystals are made of aluminium oxide (A1203), the second
hardest naturally-occurring material (next to diamonds).
These crystals will give a very deep exfoliation without the downtime.
Baking Soda
Baking soda is friendly to the skin and to the environment. It is an
alkaline and an antiseptic with a natural pH balance effect on the skin.
Baking soda has a natural ability to calm, tone and soothe the skin.
In addition to its calming properties, it naturally lightens and is
ideal for reducing pigmentation and age spots.
Organic Grains
"Organics" is a gentle exfoliant that is excellent for normal and sensitive skins.
It will polish as opposed to cut the surface of the skin. It can be used as part of
the treatment to polish rough edges left by Aluminum Oxide for normal skin or as an
alternative to Aluminum Oxide for sensitive skin. Organics also has the advantage that
it can be used around the eye area to help reduce puffiness and fine lines where
Aluminum Oxide crystals would be too harsh.
